Ōkārito Plant Project

Glacier Helicopters proudly support the Ōkārito Plant Project, a community-led initiative restoring native forests, wetlands, and waterways across the region. Together with local landowners, volunteers, visitors, and businesses, the project is helping strengthen the ecosystems that make this part of the world so extraordinary.

Native plants grown locally at the Ōkārito Nursery are returned to the land, improving biodiversity and helping protect water quality from the mountains to the sea. Our team is proud to be involved not only through financial support, but by getting out there and planting alongside the community.

When you fly with us, you become part of that story too. By contributing to the Ōkārito Plant Project, you’re helping protect these landscapes for future generations, ensuring the glaciers, rivers, forests, and lagoons of the West Coast remain as wild and unforgettable as they are today. From glacier to lagoon, from locals to visitors, we all play a part in caring for this place.

Thank you for flying with us and for helping protect our corner of the West Coast of Aotearoa New Zealand.
